NEW TINY TEDDY FOR EBAY!

I am having a lot of fun, re-discovering my love for tiny teddies. There really is nothing like a miniature teddy, that has all the proper proportion and features of a large bear, so that it's difficult to tell what size it is from a picture.

This is Rosey - she is a mere 3 inches tall and made from cream, German Shulte Mohair. She is fully disc-jointed, like the big teds and is stuffed with traditional excelsior and gently weighted with stainless steel shot and granulate. Her mohair and ultra-suede paw pads have been aged and distressed, for a lovely antique look. There are tiny bald patches in her mohair and wee holes in her paw pads, for the excelsior to poke through. A simple vintage pink, silk ribbon was all she needed around her nece, with a tiny antique bell for decoration.

Rosey comes with a tiny reproduction vintage purse. I stumbled across these in a gift shop, on our recent trip to Lancaster, PA and I knew exactly what I could use it for. The purse is decorated with embroidered organza roses and it is the perfect compliment for Rosey. You can view her auction by clicking on my "Ebay Listings" under My Links, at the top right of my blog. I hope you enjoy her as much as I enjoyed creating her.

MINIATURE PETER RABBIT SET ON EBAY!

I just can't seem to put the rabbits away yet - I just finished the cutest miniature Peter Rabbit set and listed him on Ebay tonight for a 5 day auction. When I stumbled across this tin, I knew I had to make a tiny Peter Rabbit to go with it.

Peter is a fraction over 3 inches tall and sits nicely inside the tin. He is fully jointed and stuffed with excelsior and weighted with steelshot. Peter is made from German Shulte mohair that has been hand painted, with layers of permanent heat set paints, to bring him to life. He has German amber eyes, embroiderd face and nylon whiskers. Peter wears his familiar tiny blue jacket (removable), with two Fimo carrots in the pockets. He also wears handmade removable shoes, made from wood and leather.Peter comes with his own sweet little collector tin, with an embossedPeter Rabbit on the top and pictures of him around the side.

You can see his auction by clicking "Ebay Listings" under My Links at the top of my blog. I hope you enjoy looking at him as much as I enjoyed making him!

I have just listed my latest Easter set on Ebay, tonight. It will be my last Easter themed teddy this year. Jacob is 4 inches tall and made from over-dyed German mini mohair that is short. I have distressed and aged it, so there are some bald patches. Jacob has amber German glass eyes, excelsior, granulate and stainless steel shot stuffing, a waxed nose and shaded ears, face and paws. He comes with his own easter bunny and a decorated paper mache collector box. It has a reproduction vintage postcard of a rabbit on the front and it is decorated with foil swirls and glitter. THUMPER, THE HELPFUL KITTY!

On Sunday, we had company for dinner and were thawing out some shrimp, for an appetizer. We have two cats, Tiger (who doesn't eat people food) and Thumper, who looooooves shrimp, so I knew I had to watch out for him. Sure enough, not long after the shrimp was put out to thaw, he discovered it. Enjoy the pics!

Is that shrimp for me? No? Then I'll just guard it for you!
I'm just checking it, to see if it's thawed thoroughly, okay?
Helping out has it's rewards, you know LOL!

EBAY AUCTION AND ETSY UPDATE

I have just finished my last Easter themed bear for this year, Elijah and his Friends"- it's listed on Ebay until Tuesday, April 7th. Elijah is a wee fellow, just 3 inches tall, made from hand-dyed and distressed German Shulte Mohair. He is fully jointed, has amber German glass eyes, waxed nose and shaded face, ears and paws. Elijah's paw pads are distress as well, with tiny holes for the excelsior to show through. He is firmly stuffed with excelsior and weighted with granulate and stainless steel shot.

Elijah comes with a handmade chalkware of a chick and cart. It was made from an antique mold in my collection. The chalkware comes in a paper mache box, that has been painted and decorated with a vintage reproduction Easter card. The Easter scene has been decorated with glitter and some silver foil swirls. You can see the auction by clicking on "Ebay Listings" under My Links.

I finally have some new seasonal jewelry and ornaments finished for my Etsy shop. They are made from vintage reporduction postcard images, meticulously decorated with glitter and/or silver foil swirls, and sealed between a piece of beveled glass and heavy acid free art paper, using lead free solder. The are strung with organza ribbon and signed on the back. I've added 5 to start and will be adding 5 tomorrow and the final 5 on Monday. You can see them in my Etsy shop by clicking on "Duffyantiques Etsy Shop" under My Links. Have a wonderful weekend!

I AM TWITTERING!

I have wrestled with all of the online groups and social networks, trying to find something that suits my style and my time frame. I am spending way too much time online, browsing and chatting, etc. I think I have finally found it with "Twitter"- it's short, to the point and I don't have to dodge hearts and games and all the other fluff. I know lots of people enjoy the "extras" on sites like Facebook, but I just don't have time, so "Twitter" it is! If you want to peek at my tweets, just check the Twitter Updates on my blog or click the "follow me" button at the bottom.
