I enjoy making different things, when I have the time. Beatrix Potter is one of favourite illustrators. I hope these will be on our Xmas tree for many generations. Thanks for peeking!

SUMMER AT LAST!
It was a fabulous weekend and what a treat to see our grandson and his friends spend it OUTDOORS, with not a tehno gadget in site. It helps that we live on the shore of Lake Ontario and that the creek is at the bottom of our grandson's street. They are old enough now to explore on their own, with the comfort of a cell phone for safety. Fishing is the current favourite pastime for the boys and they enjoy catching and releasing fish at the creek. It's summer, the way boys should spend it :)

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!
I've been so fortunate, lately, to to have had time to play with new things. Today was one of those days, that everything fell into place and I don't have those very often, so I took full advantage of it.
Rabbit Drinking Tea - This ornament is made from duplicate copies of one of Beatrix Potter's lovely bunnies, which I have been altered to allow me to layer the images into a 3 dimensional scene, similar to Paper Tole. Each primary feature has been layered with an acrylic glaze, to make it stand out. It is encased in class and finished with solder, that has been aged. The dimensions of the ornament are 2 1/2" x 1 " x 1/2".

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!
Finally, we have some colour in our yard. I looked out in the back yard to find our trilliums have blossomed almost overnight. They are one of my all time favourite flowers. I'm glad the harsh winter didn't harm them. We have white, some pinkinsh burgundy and one lonely deep burgundy trillium. It is finally a sign that summer will arrive soon, thank goodness.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
I know it's almost over, but I hope all the mother's out there, had a wonderful Mother's Day with their families. I wanted to post this this morning, but I couldn't find the picture at the time and we were out all day. We had dinner at our daughter's, yesterday, and today, Neil and I went out for a lovely drive and then on to dinner at one of our favourite restaurants, in Bobcagen. It was a beautiful day for a drive. This is a picture of my grandmother, my mum and my oldest sister, who are no longer with us. My niece, who is about 8 years old in the picture, is now a half century old. I think about all of them, every single day. Time is flying by so fast, so spend time with those you love, while you can, because tomorrow is never guaranteed.

HAVING FUN
Every now and then, I need to renew my love of creating with something different. When I had a small accident a couple of weeks ago and, I decided to try an idea that's been swirling around in my head. The Beatrix Potter ornaments below are one version and I have many more to try. They are 3Dimensional, like paper tole, and I have glazed the bunnies and accessories with an acrylic glaze. They are 2 1/2" x 1 " x 1/2" and at the moment, I am in search of little boxes to decorate and coordinate with these ornaments. Would love some feedback, if you have a moments. Have a lovely weekend :)
