MERRY CHRISTMAS!

 Wishing all of you a wonderful Merry Christmas and I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy the season with your loved ones.  We are sitting at Tim Hortons at Peason International Airport, waiting for our son to arrive home from South Korea.  Then our Christmas will officially begin!

 

 

 

HAPPY EASTER!

It doesn't seem like very long ago that it was Christmas, and Easter is upon us.  This winter has been so long and cold, the warm sun feels wonderful.   I was trying really hard to get some pieces done for Easter, but things kept getting in the way.  I wasn't even going to decorate for Easter, even though it's my favourite time of year.  Then we got some news that our niece's husband, had a heart attack at 48 years old and that our 11 year old grandson is experiencing heart issues and needs to see a pediatric cardiologist.  Suddenly, the bears and bunnies just didn't matter.  I've spent the last two days decorating the house and making our traditional Easter egg treats.    Our son is home from Uni for the weekend and we will all be together for Easter.  That's the only thing that matters.  Here are some of our Easter decorations.  Enjoy.

TOBY INDUSTRY CHOICE AWARD 2015

I found out this week that my wee bear and his friend, 'Oscar and Felix the Frog' have won a 2015, Toby Industry Choice Award. Now that it is officially posted on the Teddy Bear and Friends website, I can share it here.  I am over the moon because I know the level of the entries in this competition is world class.  It is a lovely honour to be included with so many of my peers, whom I admire, and to share these pictures with you.  I hope you enjoy them.  If you would like to see a complete list of all the winners, click here .

BEATRIX POTTER ORNAMENTS

I enjoy making different things, when I have the time.  Beatrix Potter is one of favourite illustrators.  I hope these will be on our Xmas tree for many generations. Thanks for peeking!

DON'T BLINK!

Eight years ago, we relocated to be close to our daughter and grandson.  At the time, Corson was a toddler of 2 1/2 years old.  We knew we had a short window span, before he was spending all his time with friends, but it seems to have happened in a blink of an eye.  Corson is creeping up on me in height, with only a few inches to go :(  He has lost his sweet chubby cheeks and they have been replaced with long arms and legs and a quick witt (compliments of his Papa).  I'm glad we have had this time with him, but I will always miss the little fellow, who had to put his hand on the wall, to climb up the step in our front hall and I still have his signature on our living room wall in his best kindergarten printing, that I can't bring myself to clean off.  I don't want to blink again, or he will be going off to university *sigh*.

 

 

SUMMER AT LAST!

It was a fabulous weekend and what a treat to see our grandson and his friends spend it OUTDOORS, with not a tehno gadget in site.  It helps that we live on the shore of Lake Ontario and that the creek is at the bottom of our grandson's street.  They are old enough now to explore on their own, with the comfort of a cell phone for safety.  Fishing is the current favourite pastime for the boys and they enjoy catching and releasing fish at the creek.  It's summer, the way boys should spend it :)
